Israel Museum RenovationIn June 24, 2007, The Israel Museum, Jerusalem launched a comprehensive $80-million project to renew, transform and unify the facilities on its landmark campus, with the goal of increasing accessibility to the Museum’s collections and enhancing the overall visitor experience. The Museum is continuing operations throughout the construction period with a full schedule of exhibitions, public events and educational programs to be held in its Shrine of the Book and Model of Second Temple Period Jerusalem Complex, Billy Rose Art Garden and Ruth Youth Wing.”The founding of the Israel Museum was one of the most important events following the founding of the State of Israel,” remarked Israel’s President-Elect Shimon Peres at the Museum’s International Council, which convened earlier this month. “Its renewal is central to the destiny of Israel. If politics is part of everyday life, the Israel Museum is part of life’s inspiration.”The design of the campus project is a joint initiative of James Carpenter Design Associates, New York, and Efrat-Kowalsky Architects, Tel Aviv, with additional support by A.Lerman Architects Ltd., Tel Aviv. The project is the most comprehensive initiative undertaken since the Museum opened in 1965, and was inspired first and foremost by the desire to enhance visitor services and facilities on a campus which has grown ten-fold over the past four decades.

His Majesty has developed a theory to enable these people to adequately support themselves through crises.His Majestys new theory advocates that people living on sections of land smaller than 10 to 20 rai plan the use of the land and water they have in the most efficient manner possible to be able to produce enough rice for the whole year. The land should be divided into four sections. The first section of three rai is a pond. The second section of five rai is for planting rice. The third section of five rai is for growing various food crops for the whole years consumption. Excess vegetables can be sold. The fourth section of five rai is the living area and for raising animals.His Majestys new theory is proven applicable and successful due to his vision and his ingenuity to relieve his subjects from hardship in life.

Though Frank Capra wrote the original story treatment for MGM’s Westward the Women, he was too busy to direct the film, and handed the reigns instead to his former Liberty Films partner William A. Wellman. This stark, no-nonsense outdoor drama stars Robert Taylor as a trail guide named Buck, who in 1851 is hired by California settler Roy Whitman (John McIntyre) to head a wagon train full of mail-order brides from Chicago to the West Coast. Though Buck spares the brides nothing in describing the hardships they’re about to face, most of the ladies agree to undertake the journey. Starting out with 104 women, Buck leads the expedition through some of the most treacherous territory in the West. Several of the women die en route, killed off by the elements, Indian attacks, and sundry unexpected mishaps. Most of the male travellers likewise fall victim to disaster, save for Buck and his courageous Japanese cook Ito (Henry Nakamura). Even when the wagon train reaches its destination, the story is far, far from over. Though second-billed Denise Darcel is the most prominent of the women, the large cast generally works as an ensemble, with everyone pitching together for the common good, just as their real-life counterparts had done back in the 1850s. Throughout, the film abruptly (and effectively) switches moods, veering precipitously from raucous comedy to profound tragedy (some of the deaths occur so suddenly that they can still elicit gasps from the audience). On the phone, Nick reluctantly admits that Hope is unconscious. She may have brain damage; it depends on how long she was underwater. At the hospital, Brooke is frantic. Nick laments that he only turned his head for a minute, for which Brooke chastises him. She cries and strokes her daughter, telling her mommy’s here. Dr. Sobel informs her Hope has had two seizures. Even when she regains consciousness, she could suffer chronic pain, behavioral changes, paralysis, or persistent seizure disorder. Sobel urges Brooke to stay with Hope, talk to her, and repeat her name. Nick promises Hope that he and her mom will stay. Brooke orders him to leave. When Brooke sings the mockingbird lullaby, Hope grasps her mom’s hand! Brooke cries, somewhat relieved. Eric goes to Stephanie’s to pick up his things. She is sitting in the dark, looking through a photo album. She calls him an absentee husband and father, which is worse than her fake heart attack. Eric had to work, and he supported her. No, Stephanie made him. Forrester Creations began with her father’s money. She wrote the press releases that launched Eric the designer. He concedes he had a lot of help…from Brooke. She will be co-CEO and take Stephanie’s office. Stephanie calls their kiss déclassé; and it’s just like him to have proposed. He will keep proposing, and if successful, he expects a wonderful marriage. Eric finally surprises Stephanie when he admits he’s still in love with Brooke. Stephanie is disgusted that he will sully the Forrester name. This leads to a shouting match. Finally, Stephanie tosses Eric the photo album. It’s what remains of the family, and that’s his fault. Eric hopes she removed the pictures of herself; it’s his family now! As he storms out, Stephanie tells him to hang on to his sewing machines and new CEO - if he can! Jackie pays Massimo a surprise visit. She exposed Stephanie in the hopes of earning his forgiveness. She must know if they can have a second chance. Massimo reminisces that she is the love of his life; no woman could compare to her. Finding her and learning of Nick was like a dream. Sadly, he can’t risk further betrayal.
